Concentration Theme Worksheet - 2D Design AP Portfolio
A “Concentration” is a body of work exemplifying exploration of a central visual idea. In order to help you focus and articulate an idea that demonstrates a personal interest, complete this worksheet. Use it as a guide to help you discover your Concentration. 2. What is my story?
3. Where am I?
4. Do I belong?
5. Why am I here?
6. Where am I going?
7. What am I learning?
8. Is it relevant to what I know?
9. How do I perceive the world?
10. How do I fit into society/school?
11. How do I relate or react to your family/peers?
12. Do I have any traditions my family follows?
13. Do I come from another country or culture?
14. Does religion play a part in my life?
15. What passions do I have?
16. What liberates me?
17. What confines me?
18. What best represents me: Body, Mind, Spirit, or Society?
19. What do I dream about?
20. What do I feel strongly about?
21. Describe and analyze yourself and how you relate to the world. Think of symbols and/or actions that represent these relationships. Try to capture the essence of something, rather than being literal or cliché. Think of more imaginative and creative ways of addressing topics.
22. Make a list of about twenty possible ideas for your concentration theme. Narrow that list to five of your top choices. Record in words and images (sketches or photos) your thoughts for each idea: How will you represent a particular theme? What media will you use? What will be dominant in your work? How will you show progression of your idea through 12 images? Email me this list of five themes.
