ART I is a survey course which covers the Art Elements & Principles of Design as related to Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Ceramics and Sculpture. Students gain a strong foundation in Art History, and Art Criticism. Students develop and improve creative skills, expand content background so that they may progress to advanced level Art classes in subsequent years.

- Major Projects: 2-3 extensive artworks per 9 week grading period that students work on for several weeks. The goal of these projects is to display a culmination of each student's individual "vision".
- Homework Assignments: 3-4 drawings/photos/research per 9 week grading period that students are given one week to complete outside of class. The goal of these assignments is to enhance the information & techniques learned in class.
